I don't just play bass you know. Oh no. By day, I'm the Fleet Manager for the Borough Council. I've always been into vans, you see, for loads of reasons. They're just so practical, and we all like practical things in Roy. I like the ones with rows of hooks in the back, for hanging tools on.

The high point of my career was doing a deal with Reg Vardy for a load of second-hand Transits. A few pints of mild got drunk in the Fox & Chair that day, I can tell you! When the vans arrived, they smelled of lovely clean vinyl, which was great, and the boys in Lamppost Maintenance were really chuffed with their new vehicle. I really like doing nice to people.

Now, about this bass-playing lark. I've been doing it for 35 years, ever since my Dad got me one of those packing crates with string and a broom handle. I 'plugged in' in about 1971, when I was in a band with Marvin Guff, who'd been in a nativity play with Hank Marvin. Oh yes, I'm no stranger to fame

That's enough now, hope you enjoy our site. Bye!
